Recreation

Boise offers an abundance of outdoor activities.  The area's 91 parks feature facilities for boating, tennis, golf, swimming, jogging, cycling, and other recreational activities.  The Boise River, which runs through downtown Boise, is a popular spot for tubing, canoeing, and fishing; 16 acres on both sides of the river form the Boise River Greenbelt offering 25 miles of paved and graveled paths.

Many area reservoirs offer a full range of water activities.  Both day and night skiing can be enjoyed at Bogus Basin, a 45-minute drive from downtown Boise; five other ski areas are within a three-hour drive.  The nearby mountains are favorite hiking, fishing, and camping locations, while the nearby Payette and Salmon Rivers are known worldwide by kayakers and rafters for their exciting white water.

Seriously, it's all about living a balanced life.  If you want to work hard and play hard and have an incredible life experience where outdoor activities are always - always - nearby and accessible, this is the place. There are 600,000 people in the Boise Valley - sizeable, but not too big.

We have a great city, with solid cultural offerings, wonderful community events as well as amazing restaurants, concerts, and professional sports teams.  It's clean, safe, easy to get around, and is a university town.  It's the third largest city in the Northwest, is the seat of state government, and has an award winning airport.  Boise is arid, but with four distinct seasons and not too much snow.

And a river runs through it.

The Boise Advantage is the easy access to a quality of lifestyle that active, energetic and fully engaged people find attractive.
